Introduction to Sylvester Stallone Amazon Prime Video Movie Review

I must admit, it has been awhile since I’ve watched a movie starring Sylvester Stallone. I believe the last Sylvester Stallone movie I saw was the boxing movie Creed II where he plays the role of a boxing coach to Michael B. Jordan’s character.

When I noticed Sylvester Stallone had a movie out on Amazon Prime video entitled, Samaritan, I decided to check it out.

Was the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan movie worth my time to watch – similar to the Creed II movie? More importantly, do I think you will enjoy watching the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan movie?

Check out my movie review of Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie to find out.

Plot of the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime Video Movie

The storyline of Sylvester Stallone's Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie centers around a young boy (Javon Walton as Sam Cleary) who is a fan of a comic book-like hero named Samaritan. As the comic book story goes, Samaritan had a major battle with his arch enemy, Nemesis. It was thought that Samaritan won the fight; however, present day – no one knows Samaritan's whereabouts.

Enter the young boy, Sam Cleary played by Javon Walton. He met who he later believed was Samaritan when he was taking out the trash in their apartment complex. The character who he thought was Samaritan, lived alone while he  lived with his mother in the same apartment complex.

It just so happens that later in the storyline, Sylvester Stallone’s character protected him from being bullied by a group of kids. Later this same group of kids encountered Sylvester Stallone’s character as he was in the neighborhood, and ran him over with a car.

Initially, it looked like Sylvester Stalllone’s character appeared to be hurt; however, after a few moments, he regained his strength and was able to get up and walk away.

The above was witnessed by Javon Walton’s character, who is now convinced that Sylvester Stallone's character must be the superhero character, Samaritan. He confirmed this by sneaking into Sylvester Stallone’s character’s  apartment and retrieving a scrapbook where he saw  pictures of him as Samaritan.

Sylvester Stallone’s character traced the missing scrapbook back to Javon Walton’s character and was able to get it back. However, by now, his secret identity as possibly the superhero Samaritan is revealed. Or was it?

The Big Reveal in the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime VIdeo Movie

If you watch the Amazon Prime video movie, Sylvester Stallone Samaritan, you may come to the conclusion as to exactly who Sylvester Stallone's character is. However, as the storyline progresses, there is a scene where Sylvester Stallone's character actually reveals who he really is. I will not divulge it here, but I will admit that it is quite the reveal in the movie.

Action Scenes in Sylvester Stallone’s Samaritan Amazon Prime Video Movie

I think the number of action scenes were adequate for the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie.  For example, there were a number of foot chases, car chases, as well as explosions to keep your interest.

Realism in the Sylveser Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime Video Movie

Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie is basically a superhero movie, so realism is not expected.

However, I must comment on how much freedom the mother gave to Javon Walton’s character, especially to roam around the neighborhood.  ou will see him walking around all hours of the night, which  to me was not safe or a prudent decision by the mother to make.

His mother works at a hospital so he is left alone for long periods of time unsupervised. Even with this being the case, I think that the mother should have laid down more rules as to where he could go, etc., especially considering the neighborhood they were in.

Also, the mother did not seem concerned about where Javon Walton’s character received money from when she knew he was not working at a regular job. Realistically, I think she should have been more involved in what was going on with him, even if Samaritan was around to seemingly protect him.

Dialogue in the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime Video Movie

As with most Sylvester Stallone movies, there is scarce dialogue for his character. For the most part, you will see his character walking around the neighborhood, talking mostly to Javon Walton’s character. There are no Oscar-type speaking scenes in the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie.

The above being said, even though there was no stand-out acting or dialogue in the Sylvester Stallone Amazon Prime video movie, in my opinion, the film still played out as an interesting superhero movie.

Assessment of the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime Video Movie

I found the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan Amazon Prime video movie to be surprisingly entertaining, even with Syslvester Stallone’s limited dialogue. The storyline itself is not ideal for young children, especially when they may watch the son, Javon Walton’s character participate in several unlawful deeds with unsavory people.

Aside from that, the reveal of exactly who Sylvester Stallone’s character really was, in my opinion, heightened the entertainment level of the Amazon Prime video movie, Samaritan.

In a nutshell, if you watch the Samaritan Sylvester Stallone Amazon Prime movie Samaritan, I don't think you will be disappointed.

You too, may enjoy watching the Sylvester Stallone Samaritan movie, just as I did.
