Watch Dogs Video Game

Finally, you can be put out of suspense regarding the actual, bona fide release date for the highly anticipated video game, Watch Dogs.  After several delays -- the latest being the November 2013 timeframe -- a few months after Grand Theft Auto  V was released on September 17, 2013, there was much speculation why the release of Watch Dogs was once again delayed.  Watch Dogs had been previously reported to be available for video game players when the next generation video game systems, the Xbox One and PS4 were released -- back in November 2013.  Lo and behold, this was not the case.  Some linked the delay to Ubisoft not wanting Watch Dogs to be overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto V, which went on to break all kinds of video game selling records.  However, according to Ubisoft's  North American President, Laurent Detoc, the game simply was not ready for prime-time during that time.  In other words, the video game was not the best that it could be and was not ready to be released.

The lag time between November 2013 and now did not go by without some other dates "leaking" for the possible release of  Watch Dogs.  For example at the trailer at the end of a Sony  promotion, a release date was advertised to be June 30, 2014. However, as it stands now, it looks as if the June 30, 2014 date was simply a place holder for the true release date that was unavailable previously.

May 27, 2014 -- This is date that will stand as the actual release date for Watch Dogs.  Watch Dogs is rated M for Mature video and will be available for game play on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4 and the PC on May 27, 2014.   Of course, Watch Dogs is available for pre-order.  Watch Dog's release date  for the Nintendo WII U was not available at press time.

Titanfall video game

What would the the start of the year 2014 be in the video game world without a few leaks from the video game industry?  The first official leak of the year is from a "closed" alpha test of the video game, Titanfall. Titanfall is a highly anticipated video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and developed by Electronic Arts which was introduced at the Electronics Expo (E3) during Microsoft's press conference in 2013.

A select group of people were given the opportunity to perform a closed-alpha test for this video game before it is released to the general public.  As expected, leaks have sprung up since this started -- which could be planned and well-orchestrated  to up the demand for Titanfall when it releases. Some actual video game footage from the testing was published and some were promptly brought down.

Looks like the gameplay consist of Call of Duty like actions where you attack enemies while traversing the map. I watched part of the video game action which had graphics that seem a little shaky to me -- but this may because the game is still officially in a testing stage.

During video gameplay, you will manage load-outs for your soldiers as well as the Titans.  Weapons will consist of an "anti-tank" also known as a titan, sidearms, and slots for grenades and bombs for enemy battles. There will also be a single, masterful weapon for your Titan.

A Titanfall fan took to twitter and asked if there would be open beta testing and the response given was "It's possible." I guess we will have to wait and see.

Titanfall video game will be released for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the PC on March 11, 2014 and will be rated M for Mature.

Sonic Boom Video Game

Good news for Sonic the Hedgehog video game fans.  Sega shows no signs of slowing down in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise series and has announced a new game -- Sonic Boom.  This video game will be like no other Sonic the Hedgehog video game.  Out of the previous 70 Sonic the Hedgehog video games, this will be a different type video game in more ways than one.  For starters, this game will be a multi-media project.  In addition to playing the video game Sonic Boom, you will be able to look at the animated television show that will also be available.  Additionally, there will be a new toy line as well.

The Sega producer of Sonic Boom, Stephen Frost, has been working with developers and others to make this game as fun and creative as other Sonic games.  It helps that Stephen Frost is a long-time Sonic video game player himself, who has the goal to bring a lot of what he has envisioned for the Sonic video game franchise to fruition.

Here's what you can expect when Sonic Boom is released.  This action-adventure video game will concentrate on exploration and combat.  There will be 4 playable characters that you can control:  They are:  Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose.

You will also use collaboration during your video game play since you are able to switch among various characters. Other changes include levels being connected to each other -- so when you leave one level, there will be some semblance of where you have left.  Even though there are similarities between the TV series and the video game -- the game will go a step further and take you to places and adventures that you will not see or experience on the TV series.

Sonic Boom video game will be playable on the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. A specific release date for Sonic Boom was unavailable at press time.

Tetris video game

There is a saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  In the case of Tetris coming to the next generation video game consoles -- that is a good thing.  Ubisoft has announced that the classic video game, Tetris will be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Tetris is a tile-matching puzzle game that was originally conceived by Alexey Pajitnov in 1984.  Given the overwhelming popularity of the video game Tetris, this announcement is certain to be exciting news for Tetris fans worldwide.

On the 30th anniversary of the Tetris video game, Ubisoft's announcement could not have come at a better time.  Tetris gained wide-spread popularity when it was introduced on the Nintendo Gameboy handheld video game console. Since that time, Tetris has been played on numerous video game consoles as well as mobile video game playing devices.   In fact, over 170 million copies of Tetris have been sold,  which includes both console and digital game sales.

The Tetris Company is giving Ubisoft a warm welcome.  In the words of Henk B. Rogers, Managing Director of The Tetris Company, "We welcome Ubisoft to the Tetris family.  I am 100 percent sure they will develop one of the best versions of the Tetris game ever."

A release date for Tetris for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was unavailable at press time.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game

If you are excited about the new Spider-Man video game, you will be happy to know that new cover art has just been revealed for the latest version of the game.  The video gameplay will consist of Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man protecting his home turf against enemy factions in Manhattan. The greatly-enhanced Manhattan setting will be open for you to explore as you manipulate and use Spider-Man's super powers to their fullest extent.

The video gameplay will also include a new feature where you can use the Hero to Menace option which provides rewards when you use crime-fighting choices to out-wit and defeat foes who are threatening Manhattan and its inhabitants.

The Spider-Man 2 video game is scheduled to be released alongside the Spider-Man movie which has a projected release date of May, 2014.  Spider-Man 2 will be playable on the Xbox One, Playstation4, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, PC and the Nintendo 3DS.
