Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance which has been on the back burner for years will be revived in time for a showing at the June, 2012 E3 Event.

According to Hideo Kojima, the executive director of the project, the game and the story line have changed from the original concept.

The change is instead of the stealth movements that the game is known for, action and swordplay will be emphasized.

More games will be developed after Metal Gear Rising:  Revengeance; however, a decision has not been made relative to who will design them.

If the game becomes huge and popular, there may be plans to create a franchise.

The release date for Metal Gear Rising:  Revengeance has yet to be announced.

Kingdoms of Amalur Crossover Content

You may have to put on your thinking cap to figure out how you can get this Mass Effect 3 downloadable code.  

The Kingdoms of Amalur Crossover Content for Mass Effect 3 is in the Kingdoms of Amalur:  Reckoning demo.

You can play the Mass Effect 3 demo to get the content in Kingdoms of Amalur.

If you finish the Kingdoms of Amalur:  Reckoning demo (before playing Mass Effect 3), you will unlock the Todd McFarlane designed armor and a character, Chakram Launcher.

Mass Effect 3

According to EA, the armor will maximize damage done in close quarters combat and there will be increased projectile velocity for weapon systems.

The Kingdoms of Amalur demo was released on January 17, 2012 and is free with Xbox Live Gold.

The Mass Effect 3 demo is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2012.

Just to clarify,  you can play Kingdoms of Amalur (available now) and receive downloadable code for Mass Effect 3.

Street Fighter X Tekken

If you are over 18 years old and have proof of your age, you may be eligible to enter the Street Fighter X Tekken contest.

Capcom is planning an online week-long streaming show, dubbed Cross Assault,  where contestants can compete against each other for big bucks. The time-frame for the online show is late February, 2012 and contestants can audition now for a chance to compete. A specific date for the show was not provided as of press time.

Two teams consisting of 5 video game players each, will be taught by high level game players on how to master the game.  One team will represent Street Fighter and the other team, Tekken.

One player will ultimately be left to win $25,000.

The contest finale is scheduled to occur in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to the age criteria, there are other eligibility requirements as well, including travel and game play-time commitments.

The Street Fighter X Tekken video game playable on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Microsoft Windows will be released on March 6, 2012.  

Super Mario Brothers Music included at Festival

Did you know that there is an annual festival that celebrates video game music? The festival is called MAGFest where fans gather to celebrate video game music along with video game musicians.  MAGFest stands for Music and Gaming Festival.

This year the festival was held in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

During the festival, live versions of video game music was played by various bands.  In mastering the craft of playing video game music, they must sometimes overcome some of the computerized versions of music and transform it to regular, old school music. An example of this type music was the score from Super Mario Bros. (pictured above).

The Japanese musician, Nobuo Uematsu,  who actually composed the video game music of Final Fantasy was at the festival and performed with his band.

 The attendance at the festival doubled from the previous year -- from more than 3,000 to 6,100.

It is possible this increase in attendance is due in part to the huge interest in video games, as well as all the peripherals, including video game music  -- that is an important part of the video game industry.

UFC Undisputed 3

Would you like a preview of the latest installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship video game series before it hit the shelves?  Then wait no longer.  

The demo of UFC Undisputed 3 will be available for play on the Xbox 360 and the PS 3 on January 24, 2012.

The full game will be released in the U.S. on February 14, 2012 and on February 17, 2012 in Europe.  UFC Undisputed 3 is developed by Yuke's and published by THQ. The video game can be preordered now.

The results are in on the fighter who will appear on the video game cover.  The fan vote was won by Anderson Silva.

Anderson Silva, a middleweight champion, won the cover over other fighters such as Frankie Edgar, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre and Cain Velasquez in the fan-based contest that ran from August 26, 2011 until September 30, 2011.

Anderson Silva won the fan vote to appear on the cover of UFC Undisputed 3.

Some changes you can expect to experience in the video game are new fighter moves, including being able to sway on the ground to avoid swings, new bantam weight and featherweight divisions as well as tweaks in the game play.

According to Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President of Core Games at THQ, UFC Undisputed 3 is intense, engaging as well as highly competitive and is a must-have for millions of casual video game sports fans in the U.S. and around the world.
