Article: Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps dives into Video Games
Michael Phelps, the record setting 14 times Gold Medalist Olympic Swimming Champion, used his swimming talents for his new video game for the Xbox 360 Kinect. He partnered with 505 Games developer and publisher to create the first swimming video game for the Kinect.
Since this game is for the Xbox 360 Kinect, you will not use any controllers -- only the Kinect platform. Michael Phelps coaches you in swimming competitions around the world as you perform motions to replicate swimming moves such as the breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and others.
Michael Phelps states he is excited about this game. Being a video game player himself, he stated it was an interesting experience for him to be part of making the video game. Among other instructions, you will hear his voice giving you advice on swimming moves. He is certain that by playing this video game, you will be able to get into good form, which will help when you actually swim.
Here is a scene from the Michael Phelps video game and the cover art.
Ms. H's take: I'm all for video games that require moving around, which includes this new swimming game for the Xbox 360 Kinect. Please play this game safely, as with all the other Kinect video games that require physical movement!
