Introduction to the Megan Fox Rogue Movie Review

It has been awhile since I’ve seen a Megan Fox movie. I watched the Transformers movie that she starred in when it was in the movie theaters awhile back. Since that time, Megan Fox has been in a number of movies, some may have been good, some may have been bad.  

When I happened to see that she was starring in an action movie called Rogue on Hulu, I decided to check it out. Did Megan Fox deliver in her role in the movie Rogue? Check out my movie review of Rogue to find out.

Plot of the Megan Fox Rogue Movie

In the Rogue movie, Megan Fox stars as the head of a rescue team set in Africa. She and a small group of men and 1 woman were out to rescue the governor’s daughter who had been captured by a villain criminal who had an army of men.

The subplot was that the team led by Megan Fox ‘s character had to deal with voracious lions who were described as going rogue after they escaped from captivity.

Acting Skills Displayed in the Megan Fox Rogue Movie

You may think the stand-out actor was Megan Fox since she is the main star in the movie. This was not the case. I think her acting skills were ok, but by far the stand-out actor in the movie Rogue was Sedanna Henna who played the part of  Pata who had to watch an unspeakable act being done. In my opinion, he did a good job of acting to show the anguish that he suffered when this happened.

However, Megan Fox did hold her own as the star of the action movie Rogue. I think she could have done a better job acting if she was properly directed in her role. Also, I noticed sometimes when she was yelling out orders, her facial expressions did not seem to change to match the tone of her voice.

Unrealistic Scenes in the Megan Fox Rogue Movie

There were quite a few scenes that were not realistic in the Rogue movie.  Spoiler Alert: In one scene, Megan Fox is having a soothing heart to heart talk with one of the trafficking victims as they hid from the enemy; however, the next second, she was barking orders at the victim in an unfriendly manner to the point of using profanity when the enemy arrived. 

Spoiler Alert: Other unrealistic movie scenes from the Rogue movie include Megan Fox managing to escape from being attacked by one of the lions, especially when she was hiding under a truck. The lion could have easily lowered itself to the amount of space underneath the car and attacked her -- that is -- if she was not the star of the movie. Of course, this did not happen.

Spoiler Alert: The most unrealistic scene in the movie was the appearance of a command station that seemed to appear out of nowhere and happened to be available for them as the group tried to escape the villains -- complete with a radio communications center.

There were a few other unrealistic scenes in the Rogue movie, but I will stop here.

Assessment of the Megan Fox Rogue Movie

I think it was a welcome change for Megan Fox to star in the action movie Rogue. The movie plot itself was not original since there are plenty of similar rescue movies of this nature. The Extraction movie starring Chris Helmsworth comes to mind since his character's mission, similar to Megan Fox’s was to save or rescue someone.

On a positive note, there were parts of the movie that had a good message. Specifically when the governor's daughter who was being trafficked, stated to another girl who was captured that they had to fight in order to survive.  In other words, I like that they were not going to act as victims at a certain point, but realized that they had to protect themselves somehow against the enemies.

Based on a rating of 1 star to 5 stars, with 5 stars being the highest, I rate the Megan Fox Rogue movie 3 stars.
