Introduction to Encanto Disney Movie Review

If you are a fan of cartoons, animated movies or musicals, you may want to check out the Encanto Disney movie. Even though you may or may not recognize the voice actors in the movie Encanto, you may enjoy the story, songs, the animated graphics or something else about this film.

I watched the Encanto movie a few days ago and would like to share my opinion of it with you. Should you pass on the movie Encanto or should you check it out?  Here is my movie review of the Encanto Disney film to help you decide.

Synopsis of the Encanto Disney Movie

The storyline of the Encanto Disney movie centers around the adventures of the main character Mirabel Madrigal, voice acted by Stephanie Beatriz. Unlike other members of her family, Mirabel was not given a magical gift or special powers. One day when the family was celebrating yet another member receiving a magical gift, trouble seems to be brewing as the house which was in itself a miracle for them, showed cracks and signs of destruction. The question was if the magic that was bestowed on this family was beginning to dissipate along with the house, and if so, what could Mirabel do to save it.

Graphics in the Encanto Disney Movie

If you watch the Encanto movie, you may enjoy the colorful graphics and animations throughout the film. In my opinion, the depictions of the characters and their surroundings were adequate for the movie. It’s interesting to note that I found an error in the graphics in one of the scenes toward the middle of the Encanto movie. It appears as if a piece of pink yarn from the main character’s dress was shown hanging on a limb; however, in the frames following, you see where the pink bow is intact on the right front of her dress. Other than this gaffe, the graphics shown were suitable for the movie.

Songs in the Encanto Disney Movie

Personally, I liked that the Disney movie Encanto seemed to delay scenes where the characters would burst out in song after or during their dialogue. In other words, this movie does not have an abundance of songs as in some other similar type movies I've watched – which was a plus for me. I believe this allowed the audience to appreciate when there were songs more by not having an overload of music in the film.

Interesting Fact about a Song in  the Encanto Disney Movie

Did you know that the song from the Encanto Disney movie, We Don’t Talk about Bruno is currently the number 1 (one) song in the U.S.? By the way –  and just to clarify -- Bruno mentiomed in this song is a character in the Encanto Disney movie and does not in any way pertain to the real-life singer Bruno Mars.

Lessons and Morals in the Encanto Disney Movie

If you watch the Encanto movie, you may try to determine if there is a lesson behind the film. Of course the specific lesson or lessons may differ from person to person, however; the main lesson seemed to be that it is not necessarily a good thing to have specific gifts.

Spoiler Alert:  During the beginning of the movie, everyone was happy they had certain gifts. This changed towards the end of the film when the magic of the house seemed to fade away along with the family's individual gifts. Unfortunately, the writers showed the fading away of the gifts as being positive, and indicated the characters were better off without them.

I think the message of whether to be proud of your gifts regardless of what they are was not clear, since they all seemed at first to be sad, then happy again when they regained their gifts back. You will have to come to your own conclusion relative to the importance of having gifts or powers as depicted in the Disney movie, Encanto.

Another enigma was if maybe the character Mirabel in reality had a special gift after all similar to other members of the family. The writers could have made it clearer to the audience that sometimes gifts are not as tangible as one may think. The truth is that Mirabel did have a gift, even if it may have been only to find a way to help save the magical powers or gifts of her family.

Fluff in the Encanto Disney Movie

The length of the Encanto Disney movie in my opinion is just right, meaning the film was not too long or too short.  The run time of  l hour and 49 minutes was enough to give the story of Encanto a beginning, middle and end, to include flashbacks.

The above being said, I think the Encanto movie story segment dealing with the discovery of glass pieces of a puzzle had no bearing on the actions in the film and could have been omitted.  You will know what I’m talking about if you watch the Encanto Disney movie.

Assessment of the Encanto Disney Movie

I watched the credits after the movie ended and found out there were quite a few writers involved in crafting the Disney movie, Encanto. They all did a good job in my opinion with the exception of the scenario involving broken pieces of a glass puzzle which could have been left off -- which I mentioned above.

Overall, I did not mind watching the Disney movie Encanto. The graphics were bright, crisp and colorful, the story was easy to follow, the song choices were expertly selected, and the film ended on a positive note.  Because of these reasons, and maybe a few more, you may enjoy watching the Disney movie, Encanto as well.

Rating of the Encanto Disney Movie
