Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back -- Circa 1980
Mom's Minute Ms. H shares the future of the Star Wars franchise. There is a saying that "All good things must come to an end." Ms. H from Mom's Minute would like to take exception to this statement. Instead of all good things ending, what if they took on another shape or form, and continued to live on, becoming even better and more magnificent in the process.
On this Star Wars Day, let's us Star Wars fans pause a short time from the celebrations and take a look at what may lie ahead for the Star Wars franchise.
There were some rumblings, some negative and some positive, when awhile back the news hit that Disney had purchased LucasFilms. Even more rumblings were heard when Disney announced the closure of LucasArts gaming publishing subsidiary, leaving the latest Star Wars video game, Star Wars 1313 and others in limbo. Disney's plan is to change LucasArts to a licensing rather than a gaming model. Unfortunately, the downside of this change was a loss of jobs for some, who hopefully are now reemployed.
Does Disney have any plans on the horizon for the Star Wars movie franchise? Happily, the answer is a resounding, "Yes."
Unfortunately, since this news is not coming from Disney, you may regard it as a rumor for now. Regarding future Star Wars movies, the current plan is to release a movie during the next five years or so, probably beginning the summer of 2015.

The first three movies will be a trilogy, Star Wars VII, VIII and IX, with the storyline picking up from Return of the Jedi with possibly two to three films each year, with JJ Abrams directing (for now) and Michael Arndth writing the scripts. There's even talk of some of the original cast coming back to possibly recreate their characters for these movies. The most buzz seems to be on Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford's possible return. The cast by the way will probably include C3P0, R2D2 and the ever wise -- Yoda.

Regarding the Star Wars Franchise, Ms. H from Mom's Minute would like to conclude with a saying that is pertinent to Star Wars which is, "You can't keep a good man/woman (or movie) down."
Happy Star Wars Day from Ms. H of Moms Minute. "May the Fourth be With You."
