Mom's Minute 10-28-2013

  • Monday, 28 October 2013
Ms. H wishes everyone a happy pre-Halloween on this special Halloween live edition of Mom's Minute Video Game Show, aptly called Mom's Minute Ghostly Haunts Video Game Show.  She starts the show with a review of two Halloween video games she played that she highly recommend for Halloween gameplay -- with one game, in her opinion,  just a bit  more enjoyable than the other.  The video games were Overlords and Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime -- the latter being Ms. H's recommended game to play.   Prior to discussing her video game character of the week, lively discussion ensued on Halloween related topics which included what she and some of her listeners plan to do on Halloween.  Ms. H reminded everyone to be safe especially with the treats that are given out to the trick or treaters and to have fun.   She leads a discussion on the video game character of the week, Glinda, the good witch of the south from the classic Wizard of Oz L. Frank Baum's book which also has a Nintendo video game that was released in 1993.   She discusses her plans to obtain a PS4 at launch date when asked which system she preferred -- the PS4 or the Xbox One. She also reveals that for the first time, she has preordered a video game that will be playable on the PS4 when it is released.  Ms. H stated that eventually she will probably obtain an Xbox One as well. She discusses her video game field trip to Kangaroo Jacs and shares that even though the establishment was not decorated for Halloween, she did meet someone who was dressed as a Disney character, Alice in Wonderland, probably as part of birthday party celebrations -- which are held there also. In keeping with the Halloween theme of her show, Ms. H begins the next section on new video games releases that are available on Halloween, October 31, 2013 which are mostly PC and mobile games.  She also informed everyone of games that will be released on October 29, 2013. To add a twist to the news for Halloween, Ms. H leads a discussion on how other countries celebrate Halloween, including two regions where Halloween is celebrated very similar to the United States -- Canada and Latin America.  She discusses Halloween video game deals currently available at Amazon.  Ms. H rounds out her show with her original saying on how you can avoid having the scariest thought you may ever have relative to missing out on opportunities by being determined, and prepared for them -- which may occur when you least expect it to happen.
