  • Monday, 04 August 2014
Celebrations and congratulations are in order for the 112th episode of Mom's Minute Video Game Show as Ms. H welcomes everyone to this, the first show after the return of DPL to the allgames.com network the previous Thursday.  To add to the fun and excitement, Ms. H gives a preview of what to expect from the special guest of the show, Willie C. Cordy, Jr., the artist/graphic designer and writer.  Ms. H reminds everyone that in addition to the Monday 7:00 p.m. EST, 4:00 p.m. PST  broadcast of Mom's Minute Video Game Show, she plays video games Tomb Raider and Watch Dogs on alternate Sundays at 4:00 p.m. EST, 1:00 p.m. PST on her PS4 on twitch.tv.  She invites everyone to join her as she broadcasts live onhttp://www.twitch.tv/allgamesnetworkvideo  during that time. Ms. H  reviews the demo video game, Crimsonland that she played on her PS4, and Crimson Dragon, the full game, available free on Xbox One to Xbox Live Gold members.  She gives both video games the same rating, and provided recommendations to improve the Crimson Dragon game to allow for a more enjoyable game play. Discussion followed on the full line of  video game shows available onhttp://www.allgames.com , including the scheduled broadcasting line-up.   Ms. H welcomes special guest Willie C. Cordy Jr. to the show for the interview.  He responds to questions and gives the scheduled release time frame of his book City Earth.  He explains that his writings will consist of about 12 comic books, and that he plans to have some of the best artists he knows to provide the art work for his comics, to include artists and graphic designers he had worked with. He also performs his own art work.  He gives his educational background and training in art.  When asked about the automation of some of the art  processes, i.e., the use of photoshop, he emphasized that it is  important for the artist to know  the foundations and free-hand drawing techniques, especially when there may be computer failures and artists  will need a back-up plan to complete the art.  Regarding art sometimes being expensive --  Willie C. Cordy, Jr. offered that high prices are justified, not only because of the hard work that goes into creating the art, but also because of the high quality of the artwork itself.  He added that he emphasizes to artists not to sell themselves short, and to charge the price the art pieces are worth.  In other words -- do not sell themselves short.  He went on to explain the name of the book series, City Earth and said that he plans to  include political conspiracies, poverty, bullying and other issues.  When asked about the viewpoints to be presented in his book, he replied  the book will be one that will tell it like it is.  Due to the subject matter of the characters in his art, he was asked if the book would lean toward certain ethnicities, in which he replied, the comic book would include all.  He recountered some of his art work experiences where he at one time  left a job due to creative differences, only to be hired back when it was realized that he was the best artist for the job.  Even though not complete, the book, City Earth is expected to be ready for the comic con scheduled for the Hampton Roads area, October, 2014.  After thanking Willie C. Cordy, Jr. for the interview,  Ms. H rounded out the show with her special sayings that a picture speaks a thousand words -- make yours to be all positive and that with positive ideas, and hard work, your success is bound to happen.
