PS4 or Orbis will be the next generation Sony PlayStation video game console system.

Sony has given hints that the new PS 4 or Orbis announcment is coming "soon" but has not given a specific time frame when a release date statement will be made.  That is -- until now.

At the Computer Electronics Show (CES), Sony Executive Manabu Sakamoto admitted that the release date of the new generation Playstation has been a big secret.  However, he stated that a release date is expected to be announced either shortly before or at the Electronics 3 (E3) in June, 2013.

In his words, " I can only say that we are focused on the E3 gaming event, scheduled for June.  Announcement may be at that minute or even earlier in May."

When prodded for a more specific date, he said that we must wait until at least May, 2013 [if not later]. 

Gamers may even find out finally if the new generation playstation will be dubbed the PlayStation 4 or Orbis.

Phineas and Ferb

Majesco Entertainment, the provider of mass market video games is forming a relationship with Disney Interactive to produce original video games based on the hit Disney television series. Phineas and Ferb has been described as a fun-filled series that appeal to all ages.

Majesco Entertainment will produce original, new video games based on the television series for Disney.

According to Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive officer of Majesco Entertainment and in his words, "We are thrilled to be teaming up with Disney to bring a new Phineas and Ferb game to market across all platforms."

The video game is expected to be released in August of 2013 and will be playable on gaming consoles and handheld devices as well as smart phones and tablets.

Sony PlayStation Store on the Web

In the midst of Sony juggling numerous media projects, it will finally launch its PlayStation web store in January 2013 in North America. The launch was confirmed by Sony Entertainment Network Chief Operations Officer, Shawn Layden.  A Sony PlayStation web store has already launched in Europe in December, 2012.

Using the Sony PlayStation web store, you will be able to browse and buy games from your browser.  Sony has future plans to have your purchases download automatically to your PS3.

The specific date the Sony PlayStation web store will be launched was unavailable at press time.

Asura's Wrath 

Gamers will have to be kept in suspense a little longer to find out exactly which three new games will be launched by the studio that brought us Asura's Wrath.  The company's CEO, Hiroshi Matsuyama, has stated that these games will be revealed sometime in 2013.

Since all three games will be new, it can be surmised that a sequel to Asura's Wrath will not be one of them.  Even though no specific details were provided, Matsuyama did say that the games are original new works.

It is expected that more details about the three new games will be revealed as we get further into the year 2013.

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal is not new in playing himself in video games.  About two decades ago, he was in the video game, Shaq Fu, which unfortunately, did not fare well with gamers.  But that was then .... This is now.  Shaquille O'Neal is in his first action video game where he will fight hardily against the undead -- also known as zombies.
