Mom's Minute 5-5-2014

  • Monday, 05 May 2014
"May the 4th be with you," is the tagline that starts the Mom's Minute Video Game Show.  Ms. H of Mom's Minute Video Game Show welcomes everyone to the 101st show following Stars Wars Day.  She lets everyone know that the video game field trips will be to Comic Book stores Ms. H visited on Saturday, May 3 which was Free Comic Book Day.  She reviews two video game demos on the PS3 -- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle and Star Wars Zen Pinball.  She preferred playing Star Wars Zen Pinball over the former video game due to the positive messages in the game as well as the orchestra musical scores. In celebration of Star Wars Day, a character from the Star Wars:  Old Republic video game, Shae Vizla is discussed as the featured video game character of the week.  Lively discussion followed on other topics such as multi-millionaire companies using Kickstarter, Disney taking over the Star Wars franchise from LucasArts, as well as the news of sales available on Steam for Star Wars video games. Ms. H shares her experiences at not one, but two different comic book establishments -- Triology and Comic Kings on Free Comic Book Day.  She reveals the highlight of her trip to Comic Kings was getting a free copy of a comic book that previewed an upcoming Spider-man animated television show, complete with a transparent colorful sheet featuring Spider-man.  She suggests that everyone who is interested in comics may want to participate in Free Comic Book Day which occurs annually, the first Saturday in May. She discusses new video game releases mentioning that there continues to be a lack of new games for the next generation video game systems, the PS4 and the Xbox One.  The talk of EA being a partner with Comcast in having video games available via cable tops the video game news, along with news of the actor Kevin Spacey appearing in Call of Duty which has an expected release date of November 2014.  Ms. H rounds out the show with her special, original saying to let your reputation and expectation for honesty, integrity and goodwill precede you always.
