E3 2012 June 5-7, 2012
As the video game industry professionals, participants, attendees and others bid farewell to E3 2012, now is a good time to take a look back over some of the biggest announcements.
Prior to E3 2012, a lot of the new video games were previewed as trailers. As a result, during the show, there seemed to be few surprises. The exceptions included a new video game that was met with rave reviews -- Ubisoft's Watch Dogs.

Microsoft introduced the Xbox Smart Glass app which enables you to play video games across consoles and mobile devices.
Nintendo WII U appeared again at E3 2012 -- this time in final form with a release timeframe of holiday season, 2012.
New video games were introduced such as Assassin's Greed III, Far Cry 3 from Ubisoft and Beyond: 2 Souls, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider by Sony, plus many others. Most of the games had pre-E3 trailers available prior to the convention.

Star Wars 1313 was at E3 2012.
Another announcement was the reveal that Star Wars 1313 would be a mature rated game and the main character would be the bounty hunter.
No mentions were made of next generation consoles or when the systems are expected to go into production. This omission gave us an indirect message to probably get used to playing on the same consoles for a number of years, with longer intervals between hardware changes.
