The Command and Conquer (C&C) video game has a rich history, dating back to 1995 when it was developed by Westwood Studios. It was acquired by Electronic Arts (EA) in 1998. This game is categorized as a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game. The exception is Command and Conquer Renegade which was a first person shooter type game. Command and Conquer video game is recognized as being the first RTS game to enable campaigns to be played cooperatively online. Previous games only allowed single player campaigns.
Command and Conquer
With a game that started back in the 90's, it is expected that there were several reiterations of the game, including Command and Conquer, the Tiberium and the Red Alert series. There is also a Command and Conquer Generals series, which was released in 2003. The plot line of this game is separate from the other
series, has a timeframe set in the future and includes the United States, China and an enemy faction, the Global Liberation Army.
Command and Conquer
Generals 2, which will simply be called, Command and Conquer, will be a browser-based free-to-play game and is expected to be available in 2013. A specific date was unavailable at press time.
