Jurassic Park:  The Game -- Available Now!  Released November 15, 2011!

The highly anticipated Jurassic Park:  The Game was released simultaneously on multiple video game playing platforms by Telltale Games on November 15, 2011!  Jurassic Park:  The Game is the first video game the company has released on multiple platforms.

The platforms you can play this game on are:  A digital download for Windows PC and MAC from Telltale's online store, Steam, and Direct2Drive;  as an app for IPAD; playable on the  Xbox 360, and PS 3 (available on the PS 3 in Europe soon). Episode 1 is available now as an app for IPAD for $6.99 at the IPAD store  and at the Itunes app store. The remaining 2 episodes, also priced at $6.99, will be available soon.

Jurassic Park:  The Game is the company's first retail launch as a third party publisher for Xbox 360.

Here is how Dan Connors, Telltale Games' Co-Founder and CEO  explains the strategy on launching Jurassic Park: The Game on multiple platforms.

"This holiday, millions of consumers will be able to experience this all new Jurassic Park adventure on their favorite video game platform. Selectively adding a retail component to complement our digital publishing  efforts is a milestone in the company's development since it ensures product availability in every major distribution channel."

What's in it for you?  If you recall the events and location of the movie, this game will take you back to Isla Nublar, which is the site of Jurassic Park.  You will experience the game in an interactive format with locations, dinosaurs and creatures from the movie.  Also, you will have different areas to explore and new prehistoric animals to survive.  Additionally, Jurassic Park :  The Game has fast paced action, exploration and puzzle solving.

I enjoyed  watching Jurassic Park with my family, and found the movie to be very entertaining, as well as realistic to the point where you can imagine vividly how life would be if dinosaurs still roamed the earth!  With today's current technology, I'm sure the graphics are even more realistic.  The interactive mode is like icing on a cake!

If not already doing so, I would highly recommend other video companies, continue on, or follow suit on multi-platform games being released simultaneously.  Making video games available regardless of what game console the video game players use, in my opinion, is an ideal marketing strategy!

Spec Ops:  The Line --  For Xbox 360, PS 3, and PC  -- Available Early 2012

Spec Ops:  The Line joins other war-type games competing for your video game playing dollars.  Spec Ops: The Line by 2K Games, developed by Yager,  is due out in early 2012.

What's different about this game?  The decisions and choices you will have to make while advancing through battles.  As a video game player, you are faced with difficult choices, sometimes not knowing if the choices  were the correct ones.  You will not receive any fanfare, or indication to show if you made the right choices.  Instead, the game continues on based upon your video game playing choices.

The setting is a destroyed, sandstorm engrossed Dubai, which is an alternative environment from the present day Dubai. The war action is standard, which includes hiding from snipers, defending against enemies, and leaping under cover.  However, it is the story-line, itself that may enthrall you in this video game.

You will be controlling Captain Walker, one of the operatives sent into the city to look for survivors.  The previous failed mission was led by Colonel John Konrad, who once saved Captain Walker's life.  As Captain Walker, you will be walking in some of the locations that were once tread by Captain Walker and his team.

In addition to conventional weapons -- sinkholes, sandstorms and sand itself can be used as defense methods. The unsettling aspect in this game is possible uncertainty in  knowing exactly who the enemies are and how you decide to deal with them when playing the video game.

This game has been said to have some resemblance to Apocalypse Now and Heart of Darkness, so you can expect horror and disturbing choices.  A word to the wise, sometimes making a decision other than the choices offered when playing this video game may be the better choice.  Spec Ops:  The line is a strong Mature-themed video game.   As they say, "To be forewarned is to be forearmed" in what to expect from Spec Ops:  The Line.

Mass Effect 3 -- Release Date March, 2012

The story ending of Mass Effect 3 may have been leaked.  Internal files made their way on line and were taken from an earlier form of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer beta files.

Mass Effect 3  is due out March, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

The latest news on this topic is that Bioware may be working on a new epic ending for Mass Effect 3.  In the meantime, Bioware is urging video game players  not to read the story files if they want to experience the purest form of the story.

In my opinion, leaking how the story ends is like someone telling you the ending of a movie you had planned to see. Hopefully video game companies will put into place controls, if possible, to prevent these actions from occurring in future games.

King of Fighters XIII -- Release Date November  22, 2011

King of Fighters XIII will be available in the U.S. on November 22, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3! The developers listened to the players of the previous version, King of Fighters XII, and made some changes to steer video game players back into this fighting video game franchise.

What changes can you expect to see in King of Fighters XIII? The developers increased the number of characters to 30 and returned some of your favorites back to the game -- which include Mai, K, and Vice.  

Other changes from the  video game community's feed back are faster fights, more play modes and of course, beautifully rendered animated characters. Fighters also have more moves, including the popular  super moves.   The camera angles are less restrictive and the characters do not "blend" in with the background graphics.

Additional new features of King of Fighters XIII are the Ranked, Player and Friend matches; you can save and share plays, and there are custom rules for more fun and casual matches.

I played King of Fighters during my Mom's Minute's video game reviews, and described it  as  just another "Street Fighter" type game.  In my opinion, with all the new characters, game plays, and competitive matches,  the latest version of  this game may be worth a second look.
