Resident Evil Video Game

You may have heard the phrase, "trying to be all things to all people."  Apparently this is what Capcom has been attempting  to do after providing version after version of Resident Evil, sometimes spewing them out in rapid succession.  It looks like Capcom is now taking a serious, hard look at exactly what type video games are being produced for the Resident Evil series.

Resident Evil 

According to Capcom Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, Christian Svensson, the company will be scaling back and taking stock of what worked and what did not work and concentrate more on the direction the franchise is headed. Capcom will be taking in consideration what the fans want based upon the type action scenarios, etc. that were featured in the previous games up to now.

Resident Evil Video Game

Capcom admits this will be the difficult part -- trying to figure out how to include something in Resident Evil that will appeal to everyone -- which was the intent of Resident Evil 6. 

Svensson states that you can expect to see more focus on future games. This direction will undoubtedly involve revamping Resident Evil in such a way that current fans will remain fans once the next Resident Evil video game is released.

A confirmed release date for Resident Evil 7 was unavailable at press time; however, the rumored time frame is 2015 or 2016.

Watch Dogs Video Game

The video game, Watch Dogs was the surprise hit at last year's E3 video game expo in Los Angeles, CA.  Not much was said about its release date until now.  It is rumored that the video game may be released sometime during the holiday season, 2013.  With the anticipation that the next generation console systems, Xbox 720 and the PS 4 will also be available sometime in 2013, the question is will Watch Dogs be playable on the next generation systems.

Since the game is currently in production, it goes without saying that the game will be playable on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.  The latest is that it looks as if regardless of what video gaming system you may have, you will be able to play the game when it is released.   WiiU owners have not been left out -- You also will be able to play the game on your WII U as well.

Ubisoft should be able to put the rumors to rest when they reveal exactly when Watch Dogs will be released and the systems Watch Dogs will be playable on -- hopefully sometime in the near future.

Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise

Your explorations of the U.S.S. Enterprise during the gameplay will not be like a walk on the beach. As Captain Kirk or Dr. Spock, you must face the villain Gorn, who was first introduced in the classic 1967 Star Trek television episode, "The Arena".  

As you face off with enemies when you play this game, explore as well as admire your surroundings which will include familiar locations such as the bridge, transporter room, the engine room and others.  Your game play will also take you to new areas such as the U.S.S. Enterprise's turbolift shafts, observation lounge, engineering decks, officer's quarters and other locations never before seen in this video game.

Valve Steam Linux Video Game Store

New video game store is available. Valve has announced that there is a Linux version of its Steam video game store.  If you are a Ubuntu user, you will have access to over 60 video games, including the popular games, Counterstrike and Team Fortress 2.  There are over twenty million people who prefer the Ubuntu version of the Linux operating system to other commercial alternatives.  The neat aspect of the Ubuntu system?  It is completely free. Another benefit of this system is that it is open-source which gives you access to programming code.

Valve now has a Linux video game store

The video games can be accessed through Steam store using an add-on application from the Ubuntu software

center. The linux version of Steam also has other video games made by other companies.

The downside of the Linux video game store is that companies lean toward producing games for  the Windows  operating system-- about 2,000, compared to Linux's paltry 60.  However, a representative, David Pitkin, who works for Ubuntu developer Canonical states that  a growing number of developers are including Ubuntu among their target platforms.

The upside of the Linux video game store opening is that Steam has slashed the prices of PC and Mac versions  of the video games available to Ubuntu users by up to 75%.  The steam video game sale ends February 21, 2013.
