Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose will grace the cover together on the latest NBA 2K video game when it is released on October 2, 2012.

The cover art of NBA 2K 13 is changing from having legendary basketball players such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird on the cover.  Instead, three young all stars, who were also Rookies of the Year, will do the honors of having their likeness on the NBA 2K 13 video game cover.

Kevin Durant who led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA finals said it is humbling to be on the cover in the same vein as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.  Derrick Rose, last year's Most Valuable Player (MVP), described the honor of being on the cover as a dream come true.  Blake Griffin said with so much basketball talent around, it's exciting  to be on the cover with Durant and Rose.

 Why the change?  According to 2K Games vice president of marketing, Jason Argent, 2K Games chose who they believe are the three youngest, most exciting, hottest NBA players for the cover.  In his words:  "These guys represent the future of the league."  

Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-man, will have powers in the next Spider-man video game.

Get ready to see Stan Lee as you have never seen him before in a video game.  Instead of merely having cameo parts in the next Spider-man video game, Stan Lee will have awesome Spider-man powers.

Stan Lee will be delivering on what he says many Spider-man fans asked for -- to play alongside the super-hero, fighting crimes using his special powers.

Some of the confirmed villains in the game are Rhino, Scorpion, Iguana and Felicia Hardy. The video game will be an epilogue to the movie which opens up in theaters July 3, 2012.

The Amazing Spider-man video game  is rated T for Teen  and will be released on June 26, 2012 in the U.S. and June 29, 2012 in Europe.  The video game will be playable on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, 3DS, and the PC.

Dark Souls

Have you played any challenging video games lately?  According to Gears of War franchise creator, Cliff Bleszinski, in its quest to lure in more video game players, the industry is giving you games that are more linear and easy to play.

In his words:

"It feels like in this current console generation that we've taken a lot of steps to grow the audience and what I think's happened is that the games have become more linear and easier, so it feels like a lot of quick-time-events."

Quick-time-events are video game play that shows instructions, including buttons that must be pushed as soon as the prompt appears on the screen.

Bleszinski's next video game will be Gears of War Judgment which will be a shooter and offer class-based levels on its online multiplayer mode.

Some games that are challenging according to Cliff Bleskinski  include  Demon's Souls  and Dark Souls (pictured).

Gears of War Judgment release date is to be announced some time in 2013.
